Back when I decided to publish LIVE THROUGH THIS myself, I knew I'd need a designer to, well, design it. My first choice was Paul (a.k.a. Pauly, a.k.a. No Website) Cavanaugh. I'd worked with him before, really liked his approach to design, not to mention all the other intangebles a good designer will bring to the table.
Of course, once STRAYLIGHT got going it was apparent that we'd need some things (besides the book) designed as well. Like a wordmark/logo. Paul jumped into the fray and offered up these choices:
And, of course, the winner:
Then, when STRAYLIGHT started moving product, mailing labels were needed. Plus some stickers to jazz up the packages:
Love that cross in a circle. An allusion to the registration marks used by graphic designers for work going on to a press. Or are they cross-hairs? Maybe a riff on the Public Enemy logo:
And here are the mailing labels and stickers in action:
At any rate, STRAYLIGHT prides itself on getting things right and couldn't be happier with the look and feel of the designs Paul came up with. I'm sure the book will look stupendous as well.
